Fireworks Night At Glasgow Necropolis, City Of The Dead

Ish, Al & I headed over to Glasgow Necropolis to watch the annual Bonfire Night fireworks display on Glasgow Green (held a night early this year to avoid clashing with a Celtic football match tomorrow)

The Necropolis was surprisingly busy. I had thought we'd be sneaking about this wonderful cemetery on our own but it was very busy with a youthful, carnival crowd of goths & grungy biker-types.

Fire Jugglers

As we were leaving a cooncil 'Incident Support' van drew up to the gates, unlocked them and drove up the drive... Policing? Responding to a call for help? It seemed all good natured when we were there. The impromptu fire-works being set off were a bit hazardous. One of them shot horizontally along the ground down an avenue between tombstones and strafed the crowd as it exploded for its finale. A bit sobering but everyone seemed to laugh it off. Like I said it was a young crowd.
